If you're wanting to connect a screen to your laptop this cable although is costly Imo but is the only way to go.

I got back from a 6 month holiday to find my very old, taped together long standing LG monitor had stopped working. I love my old monitor so I thought it was worth a punt to get a new cable and see whether I could get some life back into the olde gal. And well - despite the crusty connection port, with the quality of the Cruxtec 1 USB to HDMI 2 Cable she is working away nicely again. Thanks PBTec - easy to order, swift delivery, great products! A bit disappointed. I purchased a split screen monitor and needed 2 HDMI to USB-C cables for it to work with my new laptop (I use a dock). Today I was working away when one side of my monitor went dark, it flickered on and off but now it is completely blank. My split screen monitor works fine it can detect the working cable on both ports as can my device and dock it is just the cable that is not working. I don't expect things to last forever but I do expect a cable that doesn't get yanked or does not move to last more than 3 months at least especially given some of my older ones are 10+ years old.
