OK, maybe not totally useless, but it only supports USB speeds (ie, original USB, the OOOOOOLD one) and will not handle charging except for maybe a phone.

So you can't use it to extend a USBC hub, for ex, and run HDMI or anything else over it. Build quality is fine, if those constraints fit what you need, but for my requirement it was rather useless. I bought this as an extension to my MacBook Air charging cable. The description makes it look like it can handle power, it doesn't work for charging. This cable doesn't power a macbook with pass through from a dock if you are trying to tidy up your desk so I doubt the data speeds are any good if at all. The description said "Extend your original Type C port on your MacBook or other device to a suitable location" but this is not accurate. It could not even power my macbook when I connected it straight to the OEM charger cable (e.g. removed the hub) I'm going to try the 1m Alogic cable which also says it can do the job.... I have it plugged into my USB-C dock underneath my desk, so it looks tidy and I only have to plug this one cable into my laptop.
