I had originally wanted to buy 2 x 3m normal cables but the one I wanted only had 1 in stock and this was recommended instead by the website. I'd never used a cable like this, so wasn't completely sure what I was getting.

The cable itself is magnetic, allowing it to coil on itself and keep the tightness of the coil. Any light metal objects nearby will stick to it, if they bump, such as a nail file. I threaded the cable through a paperweight I have on my desk and, as a result, I never have to worry about the cable sliding back off my desk as the coil won't fit through the paperweight.
