Samsung T7 4TB Portable External SSD - Titan Grey

Use it as permanently attached storage to my Mac mini M4. Works well and is fast enough to edit Raw photos without any lag. It's fast enough and is fast as the onboard SSD for browsing. It does slow down a bit when transferring large files. Overall, happy with it and it doesn't heat up too much. I'm amazed at how far this tech has come in 20 years. In 2009, I never would have dreamed of chucking an operating system (let alone one that's based on Arch) onto an external hard drive and using it in real-time over USB and get the performance out of it as though the operating system is installed on my in-built hardware.

...and this is all with a laptop from 2019 too.

As for the solid state drive itself? Can't fault it, at the time of writing this review (which is already two weeks into my stress test with EndeavourOS).

This is pretty much the Linux version of "but can it run Doom?", and yes. Yes it does... incredibly well.

Used it on my Mac m1 works fine though I did chose to use mac's disk utility app to format to APFS but then other operating systems can't read the data .
