Sennheiser HD 600 Open-Back Wired Audiophile Reference Headphones - Black

I've always enjoyed Sennheiser products, having owned many and none of them can hold of to these.

Pros:
- Fantastic clarity, I've heard instruments I wasn't even aware were part of the songs I've listen to for years.
- Amazing vocal performance, mids are the cleanest I've ever heard.
- Bass isn't punchy but is clear enough that even in low volumes you can hear a full range.
- Super light, I have worn them for 18h sessions with no discomfort at all they don't hurt to wear at all.
- Fully repairable, you can buy any replacement part for this headphone at all, they will last for many many years.

- When paired with a good headphone amp, without experiencing a good set of cans; it's like rediscovering you favorite songs again.

Cons:
- Almost no Sub-Bass response, but that's expected due to being open backs.
- The default cable can be a bit flimsy.
- The lack of punchy bass makes some genres a bit flat.
- Without a proper amp to drive these, they are very quiet due to the impedance and will not suit phones or some onboard soundcards very well.

Build quality is fantastic and the sound is arguably the best I have heard, the Storeperson helped price match with a different store which was handled quick and easy.

That reputation has been well deserved! Got these as I have been looking to up my game in recording/mixing. The special was too good to ignore! The sound is just present but not like normal headphones or speakers it is like you are just hearing normal sounds/music with your own ears being there could be the experession. These are my new favorite open backs. I bought this set of headphones to replace my aging studio reference headphones. I had read about the clarity and the flat response of the Sennheiser HD 600.
As a musician I want to hear every nuance in the tracks so that I can understand what is being played well. I had a good listen to some of my standard audio audition tracks, and I was amazed at all the things I can now hear that I had previously missed.

The HD 600's have been produced by Sennheiser for 25 years with no changes to how they sound. I listen only to classical music including large scale orchestral, opera, chamber music, and instrumental. These really do set a high standard and are warmly recommended. I wanted a set of reference headphones for assisting with adjusting/modifying my old stereo system. The HD 600s work well for me. The response from base to treble is very similar to my amp and speakers, and is clear and detailed. Being a reference headphone, the HD 600 is flatter in response compared to many normal consumer headphones, that might disappoint some listeners who are used to more emphasis on the base and less on the treble. The HD 600 is an Open Design, so they don't isolate you from surrounding noise, they're not for shutting out the world while commuting. They quite big. The box content is quite basic - no extras. The long cord is handy, but it would have been nice if Sennheiser had included a velcro-tie to assist with cord management (afterall it's not exactly a budget purchase). I was a little hesitant to spend this much on headphones, but not after I tried them, I would buy them again with no hesitation.

These headphones are perfect. Great sound quality which is pretty much a given with these but also they are large enough to sit over my ears and also not knock my ear piercings so I would say good if you've got larger ears and / or ear piercings.
