Poor connection, resulting in stuttering and static. The few times the connection cooperates the audio is average. Cheap rigid cable gets in the way, and any contact with the cable transfers the sound up into the cup so you have a constunt rubbing sound in your left ear as the cable contacts any/everything. I was looking for something in the mid price range for wired headsets that both look good and function well.
The audio quality is very good and adjustable with the software available from Steelseries. Music sounds solid, Gunshots and explosions in games sound impressive, and directional audio is good (footsteps beside and behind you, etc).
The microphone is loud and clear with an easy way of retracting it into the headset and muting it with a button. My friends on discord were impressed with the quality of my voice coming from a headset mic which is a large strongpoint most people look for in a gaming headset.
