For anyone wanting to know if this works for retro gaming consoles this will be the review I was searching for myself. I can confirm that it works perfectly for both the PlayStation 1 and the NES original console, I read a review about it not working for a NES but I can assure you it does. It near PERFECTLY converted RCA to hdmi and suitably upscaled to suit a 2024 75inch 4K Samsung for both the PS1 and NES. all the forums online said the cheap ones won’t work but I can assure you, especially for the money this is the product to go for over the much more expensive products forums online recommend.

Bought this to convert my old VHS cassettes to HDMI for video capture. Despite the claim on the box AND the listing here, this unit does not convert a VCR RCA signal properly to an HDMI signal. On all three of my VHS VCRs I tested, the signal displayed fine on a monitor through RCA connection but as soon as the signal went through this unit the HDMI output was constant flicker and distortion. The support I received at the store both times (as I returned a previous unit that didn't work) was poor at best with the staff member looking for any excuse to blame my equipment/connection. Of course they had no equipment to test this unit on. After some discussions I received a credit for the unit.
Please be wary if you are looking to convert a VHS VCR signal to HDMI. This unit will not do this.

Alternatively, many retro gaming enthusiasts recommend simply picking up a CRT TV, which still offers the best visual experience for consoles from this era.

Overall, this RCA to HDMI converter does its job for casual play, but if you’re chasing the best visual quality for your PS2, you’ll want to explore other options.

This is well worth the purchase. Got it to convert TV to WII games for the grandchildren and they are loving it. Good to seem them interacting instead of just sitting there with their heads in phones and I Pads. This is well worth the purchase. Unfortunately I couldn’t make this unit work for me.
The sound was okay but the picture was very jittery and not watchable.
I tried various settings but still could not get the unit to work properly.
I tried different video cassettes but all produced the same results.

I returned the unit today and was given a credit.
