The utility of this product is great, and it is beautifully presented. But the cables shown in the photos of the listing show lovely straight cables. The cables in the box do not lie nice and straight. Far from it.

Everything including cables worked out of the box. The usb ports took a short while to recognise the USB keyboard and mouse. I'm typing this review using a logitech wired mouse/keyboard combo. Everything worked flawlessly. I used it to connect two laptops, it includes all the necessary cables to get you going (note: no USB-C cable is included, but it isn’t needed anyway).

Only minor quirk is how it handles power, the unit powers itself from the HDMI or USB cables (from your connected devices).
If your laptops don't completely shutdown, the KVM stays powered on even while they are in sleep mode.

If this happens, you'll need a workaround to force it off.
I solved it by running one laptop through a docking station that I can turn off.

The HDMI cables are glitchy e-waste. No USB-C power cable. No EDID emulation from what I can tell. I can't even get a signal from my mini PC, even when trying with high quality HDMI cables. Tldr; buy new cables with it.

The HDMI cables that came with it simply didn’t work. They don’t even work when connecting a device directly to a screen - so straight into the bin. The USB cables also had issues with devices with high power draw. Once I replaced the cables, the device worked great. Also, preciously when I’ve had issues with a purchase customer services have provided potential sokutions for me to try to fix the issue myself; however, with this product, the advice was simple to refund it. Tldr; buy new cables with it.
