Model Collect and Aoshima brings us a nicely detailed kit of the US HEMTT M983A2 Tractor & Patriotpac-3 Launching Station in 1/72 scale. It features soft black rubber tires and decals to build one of three marking options.

This is the only kit in this scale that combines both the patriot launcher and tractor in the same box. This kit is a collaboration using the tractor from Modelcollect and the patriot launch trailer from Aoshima. The tractor was previously used in Modelcollect's Pershing II kit and Aoshima released the launcher as a stand alone kit back in 2014.

About the vehicles:

The Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT) is an eight-wheel drive, diesel-powered, 10-short-ton (9,100 kg) military logistics truck. The M977 HEMTT first entered service in 1982 with the United States Army as a replacement for the M520 Goer, and has been used by other militaries as well. By mid-2019, around 35,000 HEMTTs in various configurations had been produced by Oshkosh Defense through new-build contracts and around 13,000 of these had been re-manufactured. Current variants have the A4 suffix.

The MIM-104 Patriot is a surface-to-air missile (SAM) system, the primary of its kind used by the United States Army and several allied nations. It is manufactured by the U.S. defense contractor Raytheon and derives its name from the radar component of the weapon system. The AN/MPQ-53 at the heart of the system is known as the "Phased Array Tracking Radar to Intercept on Target" which is a backronym for PATRIOT. The Patriot System replaced the Nike Hercules system as the U.S. Army's primary High to Medium Air Defense (HIMAD) system, and replaced the MIM-23 Hawk system as the U.S. Army's medium tactical air defense system. In addition to these roles, Patriot has been given the function of the U.S. Army's anti-ballistic missile (ABM) system, which is now Patriot's primary mission. The system is expected to stay fielded until at least 2040.
