Honda Prelude XX: Advanced Japanese Sports Sedan of the Early 1980s
The Honda Prelude was already a hit by November 1982 when its second generation was released, including the top grade XX model. The Prelude XX had retractable headlights built into its sleek, aerodynamically honed body, joined by a sporty interior and a tinted sunroof, and technologically was at the front of the pack in its day. Power was provided by a 125hp 1.8-liter inline-four engine, while - unusually for that era - the 4-wheel independent suspension had a front double wishbone design. Its optional anti-lock braking (ABS) system was the first on a Japanese road car, and highlighted Honda's advanced engineering prowess. It is little surprise that the Prelude would go on to be one of the success stories of the 1980s.

The sleek Prelude XX form is captured with aplomb. Windows and headlight lenses are clear parts.

The retractable headlights move after the model is done.

Metal-plated wheels and solid, treaded tires give a realistic finish.

Take a closer look at the detail on offer in the engine room, with depictions of carburetors, battery and more.

The interior has plenty to offer, with a separate part for the shifter and a choice of digital or analog instrumentation.

The interior also features bucket seats and depictions of defrosters that are integrated into the top of the door trim.

The cardboard in-box partition is the same classic design used from the first production back in 1983.

Decals are included to recreate emblems, instrumentation and more.
