Truck racing is developing an ever-stronger fan base, attracted to the high speed drama played out on the circuit by these racing big rigs. Fans of the European scene will be familiar with the Mercedes-Benz Actros MP4 which is recreated by this R/C model assembly kit. The cab is recreated in three polycarbonate pieces, with the front bumper and body rear also molded in the same material. Stickers are included in the kit to recreate the numerous sponsor markings, and the model is based upon the the proven shaft-driven 4WD of the TT-01 Type-E chassis.

TT-01 Type-E: Evolved Chassis

The bathtub frame of the evolved shaft-driven 4WD TT-01 Type-E has its motor and battery close to the ground for a low center of gravity and optimum balance. Mounted on the bathtub frame is a fiberglass reinforced nylon upper deck and gear covers improving rigidity, as well as a 3-piece tie rod providing a smoother steering action. The low center of gravity, balanced design, 4-wheel double wishbone suspension system, and front and rear differential gears all come together to produce an excellent drive. 70mm-diameter radial tires are paired with dedicated racing truck wheels; the high sidewalls make for forgiving turns.

The complex, muscular form of the cab is recreated in polycarbonate, and made up of three separately molded components.

This is a close-up on the separately molded side mirror parts. Mirror surfaces are recreated with separate polycarbonate pieces.

A glance at the rear shows a great deal of realism, with depictions included of the turbocharger, frame and other sections.

At the rear of the model, notable features include a polycarbonate coupler depiction, plus a separately molded plastic bumper.

Front wheels have a stylish plated finish, and are paired with 70mm diameter treaded tires. Paint the hubcap center for a realistic look!

At the rear, deep rim wheel designs are used, with fine depictions of details such as the minute bolts. A touch of red in the center will look great!

A close-up on the front double-wishbone suspension, which offers a ground-hugging drive. The big bumper helps protect chassis and body.

The rear also employs a double-wishbone suspension setup, with friction dampers helping absorb any bumps that the model encounters.

The TT-01 Type-E is based around a solid plastic bathtub, which features a screw-affixed upper deck to enhance reliability even further.
