Kingston DataTraveler Exodia USB Flash Drive - 64GB

Wanted some good storage, and does this.
However, Big However, the write speed is terrible, cycles it's write from a peak to most times sitting at 1Mb/s to times wondering if the flash drive has crashed.
Not normal for a Kington USB drive, have other Kingston =<64Gb storage sizes that go at a steady higher write speeds.

This is by far the slowest USB drive I have - it is currently transferring a large file >4GB at 1.5 MB/s. That is slower than some USB 2.0 drives I have. If your purpose is only to store data on a portable device and you are not in a rush, then this is fit for purpose. If you need to transfer data fast, this is not the drive you are looking for. For USB 3.0 you’d expect this to perform better than USB 2.0. This USB is painfully slow for any file over 1GB. Been tested on 3 different PCs and all 3 return speeds of less than 5MBps. For this price point, it's a great deal for 64GB although the transfer speeds on this USB stick are terribly bad. If I transferred say a movie of 1GB file size, the transfer speed would be around 10mbps. For USB 3.0 this is really bad considering my USB 2.0 drive performs 3x better than this. If you just need something to keep files on this will be perfect for you... as long as you can put up with the slow speed. Purchased for doing backups of embedded machines and found them to work very slowly when writing to the USB drive.
Tested the drive with USBdeview and measure write speed around 9 MB/s. For comparison an old 500GB USB HDD was 50 MB/s and a new 128GB Sandisk USB flash drive was around 40 MB/s
So a full backup used to take 2 hours and on the Kingston DTX it was about 8 hours.

The read speed was 100MB/s however so if you're only using it for that it could still be of use to you.

While this drive offers good read speeds and a good amount of storage at 128GB the writing to the drive is terrible. Purchased this to deliver 160GB of data to a client.
The drive is impossibly slow, other large capacity USB drives that I own work fine, so this is either cheap trash or I got a dud. Purchased this to deliver 160GB of data to a client.

Can't believe the price on this and the technology for guy who loves portable storage with videos this has to be the best price. Years ago you would spend hundreds and now for the

This is amazing just want to go out a buy alot for the family as it such great gift for xmas presents.

The only negative is should have that pull out feature so that you don't lose the cap, I throw mine away as it going be lost anyway.

The other reviewers were correct, it does fluctuate between fast and slow transfer speeds, but if you can put up with that, it's a phenomenal size for the price. I'm pretty happy with it.
