For the price it's kind of amazing it's such good quality, especially from HP of all companies. Haven't quite tested it fully out, but from a single let's play I did it's rather obvious it's a very solid mic with excellent pick up. Obviously you'll get a more fuller recording with a more expensive mic, but this works well enough for most uses and makes a good back up. Plus it comes with a standard mounting hole, so it's compatible with all mic booms. And USB is just the cherry on the top, since it allows bypassing often poor quality onboard sound chips cheaper motherboards have.

Only downside is it could do with a physical power button to keep the mic off when not using it. Since otherwise it's on as soon as the PC powers up. And of course, you have to install some bloatware, because HP is HP. Could be worse, it could be ASUS's rootkit that is Amory Crate :P Edit - You need to use the latest beta Ngenuity, otherwise it will not be detected. Though Steelseries Engine's Sonar software can adjust the mic.

Great sound quality from this microphone. A huge improvement from the microphone in the Hyper X III. You need the beta version of Ngenuity software otherwise the microphone will not be detected. That took a while to work out, but once you have the right version everything works. Noise cancelling does block keyboard and background noise. No need for a stand, it stands up by itself. I found the HyperX SoloCast 2 really easy to set up. I just plugged it into my PC and it worked straight away. The software was also simple to use and the settings were easy to understand.
