Targus DOCK310 USB-C & USB 3.0 Dual 4K DisplayLink Docking Station with 65W Power Delivery,

Unlike other dock stations e.g Belkin's, this one uses DisplayLink, a cheaper solution that needs additional driver. Aparrently on BigSur (mac), there was severe lagging isssue and CPU cosuming issue (you don't want your laptop running hot just to work the display do you?)

It doesn't seem DisplayLink will fix the issue and keep their software up-to-date.

I had purchased 2 USB cheaper versions of this hub and both very problematic. This is amazing. Highly recommended, only wished I had purchased it earlier, would have saved me heaps of headaches. A piece of cake to set up and get the screens working. I have a laptop and 2 dumb monitors and it took 30 seconds to get them all working together. Was a bit of an issue getting the sound working for things like Teams calls, as the speaker settings auto-switch to the Targus variant. Also, the USB-A connection plug is very long and wiggles a fair bit. So, you have to keep your laptop very still - if you move it, the screens can go black for a couple of seconds, before coming back on. A mild annoyance, rather than being something you'd like to take a hammer to.

I had a lot of connections to my previous docks, both ended up having overheating issues. Was suggested this by salesperson and no issues so far. Hoping this continues. I have had a real issue finding a hub that would let me set up 2 screens via hdmi and connect to my new Lenovo Ideapad. The staff member at PB Tech gave me great information, and introduced me to the Targus DOCK310. I bought an unboxed version, as figured if this one didn't work either I'd send it back without messing up another box. But no need! It works like a dream. I am finally no longer finding reasons to swear at my computer or the set up. Now I have 3 decent sized screens to work with. I am very happy with this purchase, and have already recommended it to someone else. I now work stress free.
