Lenovo LOQ 15IRX9 RTX 4060 Gaming Laptop 15.6" FHD 144Hz

I got it on the labour's day sale and the laptop works so well I am very happy with it. I'm not a huge fan of windows 11 but that is not the laptops fault. I love the customisation available. Lenovos never fail to disappoint. Great build quality and great specs for the price. I would recommend if you want a powerful laptop and don't care about battery life. Also make sure to turn on conservation mode if you're planning to leave the laptop plugged in or else the battery will be cooked pretty fast. Lenovos never fail to disappoint. Purchased for my son during the Black Friday sale so it is great value if you are realistic about what you are paying for.
Pros:
Really decent specs - You get an intel i7 with an RTX4060, 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD which will play anything you throw at it.
A reliable brand - I have purchased 3 Lenovos in the past year and I am impressed that with the reliability so far (fingers crossed).
Can't say the same about the American brand I swapped out from.
Value - great price on sale - there is nothing similar in the near vicinity in terms of value
but there are obvious tradeoffs

Cons:
-no finger print sensor (Windows hello is pushing for facial recognition anyway)
-it will be heavy, the power pack is heavy (230W) as well
-battery life will never be great with a 4060 (you can get a few more hours if you tweak the settings e.g. set 60Hz instead of 144Hz, lower brightness, use internal GPU instead of the 4060)
-resolution and screen is a bit meh (fine for us as we use our own monitors)

All in all, great value for a BUDGET gaming laptop. It really depends on what you prioritise on.
My son was adamant on a 4060 so he could play everything on ultra settings and was happy to lug the extra weight around.
Your purchasing reasons might differ but If you are after better resolution (2.5k-4k touch), a lighter profile (~1.8kg and under), or better battery life with similar specs, you would be looking at paying at least 1.2k more.

If you want a mid range gaming laptop that is also future proof, go with this one! Where else do you get a RTX 4060 (very important also is the TGP of 115W!!! - many of the cheaper laptops may have the same graphic card, but don't deliver enough power to the graphic card which will hinder performance) as well as 1TB SSD and 32 GB of RAM for such a reasonable price?
The MUX switch is also a nice feature!

Also the back lit keyboard is only white and can not change colour, I have heard there are gamers out there who demand their RGB lighting. Also, the fans are quite a bit louder on maximum performance compared to my old laptop. I reckon at this price point you have to make some compromises, and Lenovo definitely made the right ones.
Certainly not the best gaming laptop out there, but I believe it is the best one for this price!

I got this machine mainly for video editing, running DaVinci Resolve; so far it's been great! Haven't used it for much else other than general internet usage, but as a video editing machine it seems very good :) The fan gets a bit noisy at times, but even in this intense summer heat it's barely run at a loud volume. SO much fan noise - just not a viable option to use. Screen resolution is nasty. Missing features I would just call standard on a laptop now days - went to set up touch log in - doesn't have it.
