Checked with TP Link who said this should work over circuit breakers as I wanted to run the sleepout with WIFI. Didn't work, units ran very hot (52 degrees) and the support was absolutely hopeless, new less about the unit than me from reading specs. Not good. We have had mixed experiences with this product. Whilst the WiFi signal has now been extended from the study (where the router lives) to the other end of the house, we are now unable to watch "live TV" in our lounge (which is the room beside the study). When we are watching "Live TV" it starts out ok and then after a few minutes it spools and stops playing, We have never had this problem before. We have had mixed experiences with this product. Well priced and very easy to set up. Has two Ethernet ports on the extender which is super helpful. Only annoyance is the difficulty to merge the extenders network to have the same network ID and password as the existing network. I still haven’t been able to figure it out so I just have to switch from this wifi connection to the original connection when I go to other side of the house - which doesn’t outweigh the benefits that this provides. I've been using this device for about 6 months to get wi-fi downstairs. It works reasonably well but does suffer quite a few more outages than connections directly to the main modem's wi-fi. Sometimes the connection comes back after 30 seconds or so, but sometimes it doesn't requiring powering off and on. I probably need to power it off every week or two on average. This is super easy to set up and now we have full bars of wifi in our garage. You can also plug in 1 ethernet cable into it if your technology isn't wifi.

It’s rated for 600mbps but realistically the RJ-45 port is only 10/100mbps so you cannot get higher on Ethernet, I managed to get 92mbps and wifi 20mbps. Purchased this to run a wifi signal to my detached shed 15m from the house and approx 50m away from the router. Set the unit up at the router then moved the wifi unit to the shed, worked first pop. I needed a wifi extender to send a strong signal across to my flat located in a different building. Fortunately the building is supplied with electricity from my house where my modem is located and as the wifi signal is moved in the electricity problem was solved.
