Very easy set up. Attached the mounting plate to the ceiling under the stairs with two small screws (supplied). Plugged it in to the PoE power adapter (supplied) and network cable back to the switch and clipped it onto the mounting plate. Easy browser based set up program from my laptop. Lots of options, but left it all as the defaults and it worked immediately. Coverage is great covers the whole house, two stories. Running for month now, no issues. About 10 devices connected. I bought the AC LR a few weeks ago after finally getting sick of wifi drop outs around the house and hopping wifi’s to get the best signal. After reviewing mesh networks, standard wifi etc, settled on the UniFi AC LR.
Installation and configuration was simple and performance outstanding.

Ubiquiti make some high quality, good looking and feature packed networking gear/ But the UniFi "adoption" method of adding devices is a bit of a let down for me. It has never been as straight forward as it should be. Once adopted, functionality is very good. But I really would like to see an alternative method of adopting devices into the network to make this less of a pain.
Range is great for this AP. Covers my entire section with ease. Really good functionality for isolating a guest network and some features that you expect from a high end device like this with access code creation, etc. and custom landing pages.

Added this to my network and other ubiquiti gear. Definitely improved the coverage as well as the visibility of users (prior to this I was using an old wireless router as an access point). All the additional network info (signal strength by user, user history, etc) was great too - essential stuff for network nerds! As other users have also alluded to - the ubiquiti gear is used commercially, and a bit easier to deal with if you've got a bit of an IT/ network background but even if you don't - a bit of reading and hunting down the tech forums will point you in the right direction. Question: Do you need the LR version? The Lite version would be more than enough for most home inside and the Pro version if you want one outside. But Ubiquiti gear is great quality. Excellent long range access point. Ubiquity software needs to be installed to configure. This is a bit flakey, make sure you have the latest java installed. The unit will download the latest firmware before it responds so be patient.

This product is good don't get me wrong, but it could be a lot better. The fact that it's the long range model, it doesn't have as much range as I had hoped for. I still get coverage all over the house but I had bought it so I could get WiFi out in my mancave which is no more then 20 metres from the ap. I do get signal but ill only get 2 bars 3 if I'm lucky. Our home router wasn't cutting the mustard for full-time working from home and wasn't quite reaching my office in the garage so this was recommended as the fix. It was pricey but seemed worthwhile. It arrived quickly but with limited instructions that were well beyond even my average IT understanding.
Had to get my brother-in-law (an IT consultant) to come out and even he had a hard time installing it but eventually we got logged into it remotely and once it was up and running its been great and it reaches most areas of the house and the home office. Great product! If configured correctly it can extend the range of your WiFi network drastically. Recommend to mount it on the ceiling rather than wall as there are latency issues with the latter. Another good bit of networking gear to my growing home network. Using this to wirelessly connect my PoE security cameras and IoT devices in my garage to the network in my house.
