I purchased one of these just to try it out. It's a very capable micro controller. I used it to read temperature and humidity values from a sensor and log those values to a server on my home wifi network. Using the Pico with the Arduino Editor, I was able to reuse code that I had developed for an ESP32. The Pico can also be programmed in micro python. I am not familiar with that language, but most of the online tutorials use it. You will need to solder headers onto the board if you wish to use it with a breadboard, but it is easy to do. Raspberry Pi so solid as a rock. WiFi is a game changer for these Picos. If you have sensors then these are all you need, and wifi gets the info into a database.
