The Pi 500 is a great little computer that makes it easy to get hands-on with the Raspberry Pi 5. I really like the compact all-in-one form factor—it’s clean, convenient, and surprisingly capable. The built-in ports are well thought out, and it runs impressively cool even without active cooling.

That said, the keyboard has a noticeable flex while typing, which takes away from the otherwise solid feel. Also, micro HDMI feels like an odd choice—having two is nice, but I’d prefer full-size HDMI. It’s also a bit of a letdown that there’s no USB-C data port—just the one for power.

On Friday I received my pi 500 so used it over the weekend. fast and responsive for surfing the web, watching videos and checking email. Combined with the Raspberry pi monitor I purchased earlier, it is a good portable solution. I recommend both.
