Brilliant Smart 8 Outlet WiFi Powerboard with 2x USB-A / 2x USB-C Chargers

Two stars only because it does actually function so I can't in fairness give it a one star. The quality of this device is terrible, inserting plugs into the sockets is like thumbing a marshmallow into a keyhole. The conductive contacts inside the sockets are the type of flimsy metal only found in poor quality multiboards, and they don't line up well with the holes so it's hit and miss whether you can get the device plugged in that you want to use it with.

The app is terrible and the Tuya service is terrible though.

Overall, it functions. But it's not great and I'm genuinely concerned it might be a fire hazard.

I purchased this . Dissapointed not allthe usb plugs can charge at once. There is an electronic relay inside whiches switches when you turn it on. For my use its not as robust as I would like .

Bought on the 28th and 29th of May. Current date 11th of June.
So I have been using them for less than two weeks

Before I bought the Brilliant Smart Smart WiFi Powerboard:
I turned off my computer normally and then turned everything off via the physical switch on my last two powerboards each night before going to bed.
However the physical switch would eventually wear out and there would be electrical buzzing coming from it meaning there wasn't a good contact anymore possibly risking my computer and other things connected.
So I wanted to not have to deal with physical switches and bought one of these.

Benefits:
I can turn off and on the sockets with the app so I am not wearing out physical switches.
I can give most of the sockets names on the app so I know which socket belongs to what.
I don't know why I would need to do this but I can turn it off/on anywhere in the world as long as my phone is connected to the internet (Tested it over 10km away)

Cons:
2x2 sockets are connected to 1 switch each in the app, but its no major problem. I have appliances that both need to turn off at the same time anyway.
Doesn't remember which sockets were off or on if I turn it off from the main power switch (still on the app) and turn back on.

Price:
Not sure if its a good price or not. Never had a smart device before.

Works great for managing power supply to multiple devices.
Pro: App is easy to navigate to add power board to WiFi.
Cons: App only let's 4 of the 8 sockets to be used individually, the other 4 are operated as pairs of two switches. Works great for managing power supply to multiple devices.

I have purchased another power board as i have 2x4 and find them so frustrating but pointless having two different brands and apps
I live in hope that one day they can do a background app refresh so the app works properly when you need it
I find this app so painful and started for the last 2 years opening it twice to make sure the PowerPoint i used is actually on or off
As living totally off grid is important not to waste power
This brilliant smart app is FAR FROM SMART!
HOWEVER, IT IS UNTRUSTWORTHY BUT WORKS

I FIND EXITING THE APP SOMETIMES TURNS ALL MY LIGHTS ON DAY OR NIGHT
EXPECTATION EXCEEDS IT ABILITY !!
