This little switch has proven incredibly useful for extending networking outdoors. Combined with the Flex Enclosure, it provides a very robust outdoor solution to ease cable and power management for cameras, outdoor wifi access points, and other external networking/PoE needs. I've deployed two around home in the past month, and they have significantly improved the external network. Usual disclaimers apply - needs Unifi Network controller, and do check you have appropriate means to power the switch. Have used these in a couple situations where I needed to connect several POE devices and only had one cable run.
It is powered by and shares POE so you can put it anywhere, no local power supply needed. Just be sure to cover your power requirements and use a suitable injector etc. Also, if you’re using an injector rather than a switch be sure to enable it in Unifi Controller. If you're familiar with the unifi ecosystem and have a controller already configured on your network then it's super easy to set up. If you're planning to run a couple poe cameras and APs then invest in a 50-60 W injector as you'd be surprised how quickly the power budget gets used up. Works fine powering my relink camera and a couple newer unifi aps but didn't power an older ap I had as is wasn't poe+ comparable.
