TP-Link Tapo C320WS V2 4MP/2K+ Outdoor Home Security Wi-Fi Camera with Spotlight

I bought this for my elderly parents who have no sense of technology and loving it! Have had this for almost 3 weeks and no issues.

Pros
- FAV: every day each motion is recorded into 30 second to 1 min clips depending on duration of motion so its easy to keep track of whats happening rather than trying to scroll through hours of content
- no subscription needed, all i needed was a large SD card
- picture quality is clear both night and day and as expected with this price (bought on sale at good price)
- app easily installed on phone and easy to navigate

- can set up different boundary lines for different motion options (can be bit sensitive such as birds flying over camera or trees rustling but i dont mind)
- can select to have notifications for each motion detection
- can turn on/off spotlight, the spotlight brightens up picture quality at night

Cons
- no POE
- power line is quite short, needed extension line
- two way audio isn't the greatest, found it hard to hear as sounded distorted
- micro SD card needs to be purchased separately
- some features needing paid subscription but for my parents it was simple enough without them

Great camera, how ever it states it’s a wireless outdoor camera but you need a power source I think the label wasn’t that clear as you would be better off buying an indoor camera. * Very clear full-colour night-mode. I was surprised to see it turn from B&W to colour when I walked past as a test, pick out the yellow/green/red tops of my bins perfectly and do a great job on me and my clothes.

* Contains inbuilt mic and speaker, so you can talk through it to delivery drivers or the like

* Has blurred zones if needed, so you aren't spying on your neighbours
* Can tell the difference between cats, dogs, cars and people. I have tried it with cars and people - works perfectly

* Cameras can be disabled one-at-a-time or altogether by the phone app, so if you are at home and have some indoors you can disable them when you get home

CONS
* 3m power cable is pretty short - I had to buy 3x extension cab;es to get them powered up
* Speaker and mic could be better
* Phone app allows you to be notified anytime the camera goes off, but you must download the video to watch it (it's held on the microSD until you download it)

I purchased this camera in May 2022. It worked 100% and met all my expectations. It did what it was designed to do and the ease of connecting to the live view was perfect. The camera has an memory card for local storage including Tapo Care which has 30 days unlimited cloud storage.
The camera worked great until recently it stopped operating as normal. The recordings would show they're 15sec long but when playing back it lasts just a few.
It's impossible to connect anymore and I no longer have control over the camera. Doing a hard reset using the button does nothing. The camera resets itself but still fails to connect to my phone Wifi, the broadband wifi or my Tapo app. The camera blinks red & greed in "pairing" mode but refuses to acknowledge the presence of any device wanting to connect. It's like trying to connect to a phantom device. It has been useless for almost 2 weeks now while I try to re-pair it every day to get it working again.

Based on this experience of 17 months I would not recommend. Useless rubbish that is going in the bin.

Suited what I was looking for with the 24/7 live view open in the app on a tablet with 4 cameras running would highly recommend

It does all that is required and more can be set to just pick up people’s movement so it’s not recording all the time very happy with this up to date equipment. Easy to install, awesome quality. I like that they included an alarm and spot light to ward off intruders. I would most definitely consider adding more to my property in the future!
