TP-Link Tapo C500 2MP/1080P Outdoor PT WiFi Camera

I bought two cameras in the black Friday sale and I must say these cameras were easy to set up and just work!

Tapo is a excellent brand as I already have the app that runs smart switches in my house. Now the cameras are on there too and if I ever need to check the video feed it starts immediately when I press the button.

Pros:
They have great built-in AI so the tracking is impeccable. The entire camera moves and rotates while recording to follow the movement of a person or vehicle. Even my dog.

Con:
The only con at this time which may get fixed with an update, is that you can select areas within the cameras range of view to detect movement and start recording. However regardless of where I draw the detection zones the camera will respond to any movement in it's field of view.

Otherwise perfect camera and I recommend it to everyone.

I like the way I can integrate its alert detections with my other Tapo devices - Also works well with my Synology so overall good value. Let us just hope it works for more than 5 minutes. This is my 2nd purchase of the product. Easy to Instal and set up. Views excellent both day and night. My cameras are mounted under roof eves for better protection from severe weather should it occur. Prompt live updates/alarm when movement is detected and is sent directly to your mobile phone. and video recording of disturbance stored online, via the APP. Can set parameters/calibrate to be fixed position(Stationary camera. Or Patrolling back and forth for better coverage, if there is disturbance camera can then follow movement and can Zoom in for better Identification of intruder as well. I got this to replace a xiaomi one I had That just wouldn't record properly to SD card.

So far I'm happy with the tapo the only thing I would reccoment to others is just get the 2k version for not much more.

If you have a vpn on your phone you may have to pause it while viewing the live feed through the tapo app as I was having heaps of issues until I saw a reddit post about vpns cauaing issues with the stream in the app and the second I turned my vpn on my phone off it worked perfectly.

Easy set up, great features.
Be careful which micro card you buy as not all of them will work but Tapo has listed the ones they tested.
The next model up is only $1 extra which i would of bought of the option was offered but more of a Hornby staff member slacker problem than a product problem. Easy set up, great features.
