I first purchased a 3 pack of these from a different company, and went back to buy 3 more. But they were completely sold out. So I purchased 3 more from PBTech as individual units with the solar panels. The first 3 units have work flawlessly. I tested the first one without the solar panel connected. Battery lasted 4 days in a high traffic zone and was at 20%, I attached the solar panel and it recharged the battery to full within 3 days. Now the battery remains at 100% most of the time, and drops no lower than 97%. This is true to all of the C410 cameras. The cameras have many features which I love, so you can make the cameras detect different things and in multiple different zones. Connecting to the home WiFi and Smart Home has been awesome. Linking into the Smart TV was a breeze and we are using Google Assistant. Which it works perfectly with. I watched many videos and conveyed with ChatGPT, before installing them myself and linking them into a Smart Home setup. I am glad I did, because it has made the entire installation process very smooth. I have noticed that these cameras fly out the stores quickly and they maybe be coming off the Tapo line as newer cameras come out. So don't delay if you are wanting decent cameras at a more affordable price. I opted for SanDisk Extreme Pro microSDXC - 512GB and found PBTech to be the best priced. Although somewhat pricey, they give you extended notification space and allows you to get push notifications with thumb nails so you do not need to have a subscription for each camera in the Tapo cloud. So the long term saving will make up for the initial cost. Also the microSDXC could be repurposed in other devices later on down the track. These cameras and some other indoor Tapo C225 cameras I have purchased recently have almost all of the same features. And have drastically improved the security in and around our property! In my opinion they are worth their weight in gold, and every dollar spent has been worth it! Lastly the savings of doing it all myself has been a huge bonus and a great learning opportunity. Now if needed I am confident that I could easily help other family or close friends setup their own Tapo WiFi Security Cameras :)

The camera was fixed up high at the end of a one story building just under the roof with the solar panel on an angle facing North, yet despite attempting to set everything for lowest battery use the battery ran down completely several times on overcast days. Conclusion is that the solar panel is far too small for the current draw and therefore completely useless. So we ended up powering the camera directly from a USB charger plugged into the mains. We also discovered that the camera only works via its phone application, not permitting any kind of network video streaming. We did manage to get output to a PC screen by setting up an Android emulation on a server, running the Tapo application and using Remmina from network PCs to display the app. Other than those issues the camera itself is pretty good in terms of image and image coverage, including night time despite that it is not huge resolution on paper. WiFi connection is good and it does detect persons, vehicles, pets! Sound pickup seems ok although we don't use that. Perhaps if it was possible to exclude all movement (including trees. bushes etc), just with the occasional visitor or whatever, the solar panel might support the lowest current requirements, but it is an unlikely scenario particularly in windy Wellington. The camera is now doing an acceptable job but I would look for something different if purchasing again, with network streaming capability and certainly avoiding small solar panels.
