Very happy with this purchase - I plugged it in and it works. Slim and portable are perhaps understatements. It's so small and light I thought it was too flimsy and fragile. After finding many devices that were more expensive than this, decided to try the cheapest option I found online which was this one. really prompt delivery and such an easy set up - literally just plug and play. Is pretty quiet so when watching movies from disc there is very little background noise and has played a number of discs from different regions for me.

Reads at pretty much the full advertised speed, which is about as good as you can get. Haven't tried writing yet but hope to get to that soon. A little noisy at full tilt, but not really any more than I'd expect from a portable drive. Needs to be treated with care as long-term things like micro-USB connectors on the drive itself can be fragile, but at least the supplied cable isn't captive. You need two free USB sockets as the cable is of the split type, to ensure the device gets enough power (USB-2, I imagine).
