Works perfectly, carried it around in my bag for over a year, hasn't come apart and is pretty durable.

I used this device to clone an existing SSD on the motherboard to a new SSD twice the size in this enclosure. I then replaced the old SSD with the new one on the motherboard and it worked flawlessly. No nonsense enclosure. Plastic makes it feel kind of cheap - but it is. I put some tape on the seam to make it feel a little sturdier. I've only had this for 2-3 weeks, but it was quick and easy to set up, and seems to work well with the Samsung 980 NVMe drive that I've installed in it. Bought this to pair with Kingston KC3000 1TB M.2 NVMe Internal SSD but didn't work tried with another similar specced PCIe 4.0 SSD and still didn't work. In short intermittent bursts it is OK.
but for large file or as a Backup/Time Machine it is super slow.
a standard USB spinning HDD is much faster.
it seems like a caching issue.
so it appears to me to be very cheap hardware.
add to that the heat causes it to slow down even more.
