I bought this as a boot disk for a VMware host.
It installed on the motherboard directly, so no cables.
It gives an extremely fast boot up of the Host when patching the Hypervisor.
While all this is good reasons to buy, my primary purchase for the 970 plus was for the 5 year warranty.
I have had cheap ESXi boot SSDs in the past and failed 2 to 3 years after installed.
Just buy a good quality product upfront with a new server and not cause yourself grieve down the track. I bought this as a boot disk for a VMware host.

Much faster than my old SSD definitely a noticeable difference in the 3 weeks I've owned it so far. Top of the line M.2 drive, can't get better in my opinion.
