Seagate IronWolf 2TB NAS Internal HDD

So 2 HDDs have survived my NVR for 12 months so far. 2 instead are at risk of failure and lasted for 6 months.

Bought this drive for my desktop as a general data drive. I also have a NAS for backups of said Data drive.
This drive performs much faster as it's a 7200RPM drive than my older smaller drive at 5400RPM. It was a noticeable change, Bought this drive for my desktop as a general data drive. I also have a NAS for backups of said Data drive.

Seagate has been my go to brand for a very long time, and I've never had any issues. I decided to replace a 3 TB SMR Drive and really wanted something quiet, decided on saving some money by getting a 5400 rpm drive over a 7200 rpm one.
(This drive is only 5400 rpm). I was surprised to find that this 5400 CMR drive performs better than the old 7200 SMR did however. Transferred the data to the second drive so I could return this under warranty - as the drive filled up, it uncovered bad sectors on that drive too... which then failed SMART after that. Returned the first drive and was issued a credit, used the credit to purchase an Ironwolf 12TB disk... Drive was dead on arrival, wouldn't spin up and wouldn't detect. Tried the drive in every socket of the NAS, made no difference so that's heading back now as well. Purchased this to replace an SMR drive, unaware of the difference originally and the reason for the large cost difference. This drive is a lot more expensive, but so much faster in operation, particularly when getting full. There was a time these had 5 years warrantees ...

I turned three of these into a RAID5 array so it can survive a disk failure. Everything works well, and I'm pleasantly surprised with how fast they are. Using 5 of these in a DS1522+ NAS. Easy plug-in installation and the HDD are very quiet when operating. Good buying for the capacity, especially when on sale. Fully recommend. My smaller Ironwolf has been working without issue for over 4 years. This one was bought when a large Toshiba NAS drive I'd ordered from elsewhere arrived faulty. They were taking so long (elsewhere) that I bought this Ironwolf as I needed it for extra storage. Worked perfectly from the start, as it should.
