Works beautifully out of the box. Lovely and fast for a 2.5. Transfers at 100 MBs average. Always there and connected when plugged in. Plug and play out of the box. The WD Elements SE 2TB passed with flying colors, so I bought another one, and will buy more as the need arises.

I bought this WD Elements SE 4TB Portable External HDD - Black 2.5" - USB 3.0 WD Elements SE 4TB Portable External HDD - Black 2.5" - USB 3.0- the drive is good but I was surprised that it was the old style of USBC- I know, I should have read the description more carefully but I expected to be able to plug it directly into my Mac laptop without faffing around with an adaptor.
