Google Chromecast with Google TV HD - Snow

Good little device for the price. Great value. Superior to previous Gens.
Purchased a month ago, and only issue stopping this from getting 5 stars is the remote chews through batteries.
Only use the Chromecast a couple hours a day, but the batteries go flat real fast. On my 3rd set of AAA's. Batteries are lucky to last 10 or more days.
Using fresh Energizer AAA Max.
Googling the battery issue sounds like its not that uncommon, and could be warranty.
Might head instore with my receipt at some point. Sure PBT will look after me. Good little device for the price. Great value. Superior to previous Gens.

Was surprised how many Apps were included.

TV quality is Terrific.

I was a Vodafone TV subscriber. With Vodafone exiting the market, we had to find another solution. After many changes to the advice prescribed by Vodafone, my research identified the Google Chromecast with Google TV. I'm not as tech-savvy as I used to be but I have to say that installing the Google Chromecast was pretty much idiot-proof. Plugging in my TV and following the instructions couldn't have been easier. The service has been brilliant, and the selection of programs and entertainment is so vast that we are spoilt for choice. We bought one, with the aim to get one for all the TVs .
We had a Vodafone box and I was tempted to go with the sky box.

One morning my wife could not get the Vodafone box to work and she thought it was Vodafone that turned it off. I went and got this Google TV device to make sure that our not-smart tv become a dumb TV.

Now i don't even care about the Sky TV thing. This is AWESOME. it has everything the sky tv has and is even MORE convenient for CHEAP.

Planning to get some of those cheap VEON panels and slap this device on it. It will make any good panel a GREAT smart TV.

I only have an HD TV and VDSL internet, so didn't need the 4K version. Works well and fast. You can disable the extended home screen that has recommendations etc., and just have 'apps only', which is great (although that way turns off voice assistant, which isn't so great). Can have multiple profiles, awesome. The bottom left button on the remote turns on/off TV but the input selector button to the right of this I haven't managed to get it to work (not a game changer though) and volume buttons on the side of the remote can do either your TV volume or the Chromecast's own volume.
