Ah, HP ink cartridges, the modern-day alchemist’s dream — capable of transforming mere paper into technicolor masterpieces... at the cost of what feels like my life savings.

Let’s start with the unboxing. There’s a certain suspense to it, like opening a gift you’ve paid for but don’t really want. You press “Install” and wait, and wait... and then wait some more. The printer hums, buzzes, and flashes cryptic lights as if performing some sacred ink-acceptance ritual. After what feels like a millennium, success! The cartridge is in, and the printer gives you that triumphant little beep.

Now, the real fun begins: printing. You hit print, and suddenly, your printer becomes the Picasso of home offices, spitting out crisp, vibrant pages like it’s being paid by the color. And you can’t help but be impressed... for about 10 minutes. Then you print three more pages, and your ink meter drops faster than my enthusiasm for cardio.

HP has somehow bottled unicorn tears and rainbows into these little cartridges, and that’s how they get away with charging more for ink than an actual printer. The ink is probably a mix of stardust and melted gold, which explains why it disappears after printing a few pages.

In conclusion, HP ink cartridges are like dating an artist: beautiful results, but you’ll be broke by the end. If you ever need to explain the concept of fleeting joy to someone, just buy them a printer and a single cartridge of HP ink. However on the day PB tech had the best price.

I like to use the original HP cartridges and it is hard to find these so competitively priced and local to me so no delivery charge.

Have had endless problems with printer software errors, remote printing, etc when using "compatible" HP cartridges. HP are including scrips in each software update to detect if the printer isn't using genuine HP cartridges, so it becomes necessary to disable software updates which affects printer performance. Print quality is also nowhere near as good as with genuine HP cartridges, especially when ink level drops below half way mark. Even though compatible cartridges are quite a bit cheaper, it's just not worth it. This bundle of genuine HP cartridges from PB Tech is the best price I was able to find and works perfectly. HP's firmware updates means you can't use the third party cartridges. My old Brother A3 printer was a lot cheaper to run but did a few years ago.
