ASUS RT-AX3000 (AX3000) Dual-Band WiFi 6 Extendable Router

When I visited PBTECH, this wasn’t the router I came in for. I was going for an ASUS RT-AC2400, but after some discussion with a very helpful sales guy. I went for this one as it has more benefits is slightly faster has Wi-Fi 6ax and is cheaper. Took a bit of setting up, eventually I found the settings info on the PBTECH website and it connected without issue. I have had it running now for a few days and it hasn’t dropped Wi-Fi which was one of the issues I had with my ISP supplied Huawei router. My old Asus DSL AC68U was reliable to cover only a third of my small house. It had difficulty in reaching the third room, but when I replaced it with the Asus RT AX3000, my WiFi coverage expanded twice and the data transfer, thrice. Although there seems to have a compatibility problem in using the old one as Node for AiMesh, its extender's function did the trick. The AX3000 worked as an AiMesh node to DSL AC68U, but not vice versa. In saying so, I haven't tried to use AX3000 independently, but with my current setup, I'm certain my WiFi blankets even my neighbours' area, so I'm stoked! Upgraded my router from 5yo D-Link one which we faced disconnection and halt of wifi signal often lately. The number of devices connected (15 wifi + 5 wired) might have overwhelmed my old router. After changing to this one, all the crappiness went away. Being working for 2wks without any interruption. Speed test using cell phone shows just as fast as wired PC (nearly reaching internet service of 200Mbps max). Set up was easy, UI is great, monitoring and controlling using a mobile app is superb. Purchased to improve wifi coverage as some rooms in my house had deadspots and weak wifi connection with my Starlink Gen 2 router.

Starlink is now in bypass mode and connected to Asus router.

No more dead spots, better speeds overall and Asus app is great for managing kids devices etc.

Only modem I recommend for people with distance issues in their households. Around 150m coverage and the app makes it so much easier to setup than previously and faster. Slightly better range than our old Vodafone router.
It does drop me off when I leave and come back into range then I have to go back into settings and reconnect, but I'm technologically challenged and that could be a setting I need to change on my phone. Slightly better range than our old Vodafone router.

This products meets all it's claims. The ASUS app makes it easy to set up and it worked from the get-go. Setting up Noord VPN was noy so straight-forward, but using the instructions on the Nord site and a little (maybe more) patience I got it set up (I am not a networking expert!) - once working I found the VPN feature works well. I am pleased with my purchase: it does all that I wanted, although setting up and switching countries using NORD VPN could be easier. Some other VPN's (e.g. Express) seemed pre-set up in the Asus app: but I am already a premium Nord user and did not want to add another.

Seems to be a very good router. I dont know that much about routers but haven't had any issues pretty steady connection even when lots of people are using it. So I had this router for a bit 5 months running really well and then when I had to change ISP it dead ass bricked itself and then wouldn't connect me and the new ISP were scratching our heads because settings were right then pbtech refunded it fours later after I brought it in. Then i got it replaced then that one bricked itself as well 2 days later ☠️. I've since switched to something completely I really like the online ui but new users do yourself a favor and do advanced setup when it's fresh from box also buyer beware I blew though two of there's routers and according to reddit I'm not the only one.
