TP-Link TL-PA4010P KIT AV600 Powerline Kit with AC Pass-Through, 600Mbps/300m, 1+1 LAN

The WIFI kept dropping out on my Samsung TV and I was getting grief about it as it made Netflix viewing a pain. I was going to get an Ethernet cable put in by an Electrician but this was looking expensive. This unit saved the day. It was trivial to install and Netflix has been solid since.

In my case, I first had to make sure the Modem and the TV were on the same electrical circuit prior to purchase. I was going to get an Ethernet cable put in by an Electrician but this was looking expensive. This unit saved the day. It was trivial to install and Netflix has been solid since.

Wow, I was sceptical at first but these work brilliantly. I'm using mine to eliminate having an ethernet cable crossing doorways. Internet speed has only dropped by 0.7Mbps but upload has increased by 0.9Mbps. Youtube still loads in HD no problem. Great buy! Wow, I was sceptical at first but these work brilliantly. Crap these are handy! Just got a pair today because the rubbish wifi kept cutting out and I managed to use all of works data... The boss was like oi dick! And banned me from the data allowance.

I'm staying in a caravan while I wait for permanent digs and the wifi is in a shed/garage. I plugged one of these in the shed kitchen and one into one of the caravan 240v sockets and hooked up a wifi router. Works mint! 5 mins and I was up and running.

It's bit jimmied, I'm running power to the caravan via a 20m lead curled up all over the place and then into the caravan plug to 10a house plug adapter plugged in on the other side of the shed. holy cow - should have got this years ago. Struggled with getting wifi around the house and especially to the media tv/ console in the lounge for media on demand. Got this kit, one unit in the home office to connected to the internet - the other in the lounge connected to the TV/ console - never looked back. Took all of 2-3 minutes to set up (as long as it took to walk from one end of the house to the other). Highly recommended. Oh my word, my life is complete. So worth the money considering how easy it is to start using it. Living in a house with 2 floors. Couldnt believe we had fibre cause of how slow it was for me upstairs and sometimes the connection was disrupted. Needed a solution to network several rooms in a fairly large house where we just moved. I didn’t want to go wireless, loose cables on the carpet, or pay an electrician to install proper network cabling in the house. My research brought up Powerline Ethernet.

I decided to try the TP-Link brand, because they are good value and reviews were very positive.

The connection is consistent and reliable, about 9-10 Mbps speed, equivalent 100 Mbps Ethernet. The units are spec’d 500 Mbps, but I may not see higher speed because of 50 year old electric wiring.

Very, very happy! Recommended technology and I highly recommend this particular TP-Link unit.
