NETGEAR EAX15 (AX1800) Dual-Band WiFi 6 Range Extender - 1 x Gigabit LAN

I've had this extender for 4 months now (at the time of writing) and I'm so happy with it. The main reason I bought this extender is because my TP-LINK extender actually had severe heating issues immediately after I switched from broadband to fibre which lead to it frying what I believe was it's WiFi chip.

The main problem I had is that the router is actually located in a DIFFERENT building on my property and all the rooms EXCEPT for my room had a WiFi signal. So having networking wasn't an option for us.

The range of the extender is so big that I could connect to the network at my neighbors house and still have a fast and reliable connection.

With the Night Hawk app you can split the networks and I use the 5Ghz network and it's super fast. I've never experienced such fast speeds before:

So I've been able to watch YouTube in actual 1080p 60fps (Router's network also VERY unstable) without buffering or random drops in quality. I've also been able to play games with low ping (Oceania servers) so I no longer have to suffer from bad net.

There is a 1Gbps female connection on the extender and if you were to plug in a 1Gbps male ethernet cable, holy cow you're gonna get some speed, might as well go to the moon and back.

The LEDs on the front makes it easy to tell if any of the networks are working properly (no issues so far)

The Night Hawk app is super user friendly which makes it easy to use, you can manage which devices can have access to the WiFi, you can change the network names and change the network password easily in the app.

HOWEVER, the instructions in the box tells you to go on a website to set up the networks like with TP-LINK, but it doesn't seem to work so I end up having to download the Night Hawk app (It does say in the instructions that you can download the app to set the extender up).

That's the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars (4.85) out of 5 otherwise it's an amazing product. I do highly recommend you buy this when it's on special (which it often is) to get more out of your money.

You also need a Night Hawk account but that's fine with me.
Also make sure that you have a working AU power outlet and at least a power supply and an existing WiFi modem/router with an active internet plan.

This extender will work with any 3rd party router and create a mesh network, whereby using a single SSID and allow for seamless roaming.

I bought this product after being unable to source a WiFi Mesh Extender from my telco and doing a lot of internet research and it has been the perfect solution. I have a reasonably large one level home and did not have WiFi coverage at the far end of the house and this simple plug in extender has done the job! So easy to set up via an app on my phone and full coverage across the whole house - purchased via click and collect which was also super easy. Thanks PB Tech! Reasonable distance from middle of a 3 bedroom house also. Would recommend that people set it up to their preference via the web console to ensure the same hz band isn't used for in going and out going signals. Does not work very well if you extend the WiFi signal through a brick/concrete wall and/or brick/concrete floor/ceiling. Not recommended in these circumstances

I have an orbi 6 system and needed this because my room is on the otherside of the house plugged it in and followed the instructed steps and in 15mins was all set up. It all looks as though it will normally work BUT - you only find out when trying to install that it won't work if your router is set up in bridge mode, which mine is. Nothing in the description to tell you that...minor detail 😬.

So, this is nothing to so with PB Tech, whose team have been nothing but helpful. Just an issue buried in the details that they wouldn't have been aware of.

Literally plug and play. The main reason for getting this particular extender was its ability to utilise the same wifi name and create a mesh with our existing wifi. This unit did not disappoint. No changing to different wifi names within the house. Just ensure that you have a power socket available for it. Literally plug and play. This is possibly the best experience I have had with both installing and the efficiency of tech equipment I have bought from PBTech. I am techno-challenged, I don't work with AI or any tech daily so anything to do with installing or setup is a nightmare for only the tech trained so to mange this was a win, thank you.
