TP-Link RE500X (AX1500) Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Range Extender 1GbE x1

Bought to cover a low level coverage area of the house. There was ome faffing about getting it set up, but seems towork OK once configured. Just a bit annoying that it insists on having a different SSID (network ID) than my main one, so all the devices in that area need to be reconfigured to use that ID. Also found that the Alexa Show no longer cntrols the Dots as its on the extended SSID and the dots are on the main SSID. Now we have to shut each one down individually, which is pain. Well packeaged device. Pity it cannot be wall mounted and has to sit on a shelf. Its just as well Ihad a shelf handy, otherwise the airwould have been bluer than it was when I found out Icouldnot wall mount the device.

I got Starlink installed, and the WIFI extender we had was actually slowing the whole system down at that part of the house. I did some research and discovered some older extenders can do that with Starlink. I purchased this product and what a huge difference it has made, especially watching Netflix. It loads immediately and runs at 4K from the get go. There was always a slight lag before, and the clarity would take time to set up.
The mesh system was the easiest to set up of any product I have ever used, I really like how it literally extends the network without creating another address to search for.

Took some time to actually get it to respond as per instructions. Was about to give up, then tried a system reset and eventually it linked. The set up was not easy until I gave up on the phone app instructions, and went to "browser on the desktop" instructions which was all done in 2 minutes.
The car is only able to get to about 36 metres from the modem/router, and the WiFi connection was very weak to non existent. In the revised arrangement the extender is located 6 metres nearer to the car park area, and the signal is now "optimum" according to the car's diagnostics.

Wifi was patchy in some rooms which annoyed my teenage son greatly! This is no longer a problem - full signal everywhere. Easy to install & set up, the app is great for any troubleshooting too. The setup was straightforward and it is now positioned at the opposite end of the house from the router in what was an adequate 2.4GHz zone and a non existent 5Ghz zone. I now get very strong signals from both bands and I can use them 5Ghz band to get 10x the speed of the original 2.4Ghz. Very happy! I've owned a few range expanders and none of them worked - leaving me sceptical of the whole thing. Regardless, I found myself in a situation where I needed Wifi expansion and this unit fit the bill. Setup was insanely fast with the WPS button. Had it hooked up within 5 minutes. Connected to my router first go. Set it up half way between the dead zone and my router and success! PC has internet!

Super happy with the product and my faith in wifi repeaters has been renewed. This unit is very nice, has 5ghz as well as 2.4. Thanks PB Tech for super fast shipping and awesome pricing. The staff member gave me a tech contact in case I had trouble setting it up, but it was straight forward. It has written instructions which I used, and it worked first time, no problem. I used to have 1 bar of cover from our old wifi, now I get full power and speed is fine. I have a home office and have had a few Teams calls- no trouble there or streaming Youtube etc. A week down the track and its been solid, no dropping out, performance loss etc.
