Works great with our 4k TV. Not used the remote much as I use the Samsung Galaxy S10 to cast & operate the TV. Can recommend this as a good upgrade to the 1080p unit. Works great with our 4k TV. Not only does it do Chrome Cast, but the Google TV features give your dumb TV access to Netflix/Prime Video and other common streaming apps, with the icing on the cake being IR support in the remote for TV/Amp power and volume control. I bought this Chromecast to upgrade my old Chromecast. And I must say that the remote is wonderful along with the Google TV which has a great UI. I love how I now only have to use one remote as the Chromecast remote can change the volume and power on and off my tv. I bought this Chromecast to upgrade my old Chromecast. I just updated to this chromecast and it is so easy to use. Even tho my tv isn’t that old, it doesn’t have all the streaming services. So, before, when i wanted to cast Netflix to my tv, i had to get my phone out, find the app, login, choose the movie and then cast it. Now it all happens in one place and the remote makes it easy to switch between Netflix and Disney+ etc. Saves a lot of hassle ! I just updated to this chromecast and it is so easy to use. Converted our 2014 smart Samsung TV back into a smart TV (was rapidly becoming a dumb TV as app were being withdrawn due to its age). Much more responsive than the original TV apps too, and shows combined recommendations from several streaming sources. So much better than casting from a smart phone. Now with the built in apps an the remote you no longer have to fumble around to cast shows from your phone. Setup was easy, though as always logging in to all your streaming services can be a chore, depending on what mechanisms they support. The big ones, Netflix, Disney etc. all have quick login methods now using QR codes etc. - but the locals, TVNZ, TV3, Neon etc. you have to laboriously type your password in on the onscreen keyboard.
