TP-Link Kasa HS100 Smart Wi-Fi Plug

I used to always get the Belkin wemo range of products but they stopped selling them in NZ. The TP Link range is actually better though. The Wemo app always used to be slow and buggy, but the Kasa app works well and is designed nicely. It integrates well with Google Home and Alexa (we have both at home and at work) and also integrates well with IFTTT which is handy if you're wanting to create different recipes around the house. I use a Flic smart button to control several Kasa devices through IFTTT and it works well. The only thing that I feel is missing (or maybe it's there and I haven't found it yet) is an auto off feature. Useful for heaters and stuff where you want them to auto switch off after an hour or so to save over heating, the wemo does have that. The timer function in the app is to manually set a timer for a one off instance which is less useful if you're controlling everything with google home or alexa.

Kasa app that you use to configure this device works well. I have setup so motion detection from a Wyze motion sensor turns on a lamp plugged into this Wifi Plug, connected using IFTTT. Bought two of these a few weeks back. Easy to set up and work well. I tried these units a year ago but they didn’t seem to work well with the Vodafone supplied HG659 router. Bought a couple of these plugs for hard to get to appliances and connected the plugs into Alexa. Now I can switch my appliances on and off by voice. I even coordinated a Alexa skill so they both can be operated at the same time by a different command.
