I’ve been using the Ubiquiti UniFi USW-Pro-24-POE (400W) in a few of our client deployments now, and it’s quickly become my go-to for medium to large networks that need both power and performance.

The PoE budget (400W) is more than enough to drive a fleet of UniFi access points, cameras, and phones — even some higher-draw devices like G4 Pro cams or door controllers. The mix of PoE+ and PoE++ ports is great for future-proofing and saves on the need for injectors or midspan gear.

Layer 3 functionality is a nice addition, especially for VLAN-heavy environments or where some basic routing is needed without pushing everything up to a firewall. It's not a full Layer 3 core switch, but it handles inter-VLAN routing well for what it is.

Noise-wise, it’s fine in a comms room or rack, but I wouldn’t put it in a quiet office space — the fans spin up when the load increases, and they’re definitely noticeable.

Management through UniFi Controller is a dream — easy visibility, good alerting, and seamless integration with the rest of the UniFi stack.

Very easy to install. Super fast interfaces and we are enjoying a noticeable increase in speed in our office after upgrading.

Ubiquti have a rather limited range of switches. Our requirements was one that had PoE capability for our nanoHD access points and a 10Gbps uplink. This particular switch meets our requirements rather well. The only problem with setting it is up is that it is difficult to perform a bulk update of the switch port configuration.
