ProsKit 8PK-CT001 Pro UTP/STP Cable Stripper Stripping Tool

Brought this tool as I was installing six Cat6 keystone jacks and needed a basic wire stripper/punch down tool.

It worked fine for the few jacks that I was installing though if I were doing a larger amount I would invest in a better tool.

Not heavy duty but suitable for what we needed and much more affordable than the professional hand grip version. They also doubled up as a screwdriver which was very handy. Would recommend. Overall, this was an impulse purchase for a cheap punchdown tool, which was highly rated. Unfortunately, this isn't a "110 Punch-down Tool" that also cuts the wire as you punch down on the wire to the keystone. By the looks of it, it simply punches the cable down, but you are left with a cable to cut. Without a proper punchdown tool, this tool is pretty hard to use on its own unless you like an untidy keystone like the image (which I didn't look closely at). Works perfectly. I was previously using the wire stripper built into my crimping tool, which had a tendancy to cut into the wire, resulting in many re-dos.

I've just moved and am waiting for my professional grade toolkit to arrive, so I bought this to get me by as I have a few little jobs to do. I was skeptical at first, but this little tool is quite handy for stripping Cat5/6 cable and punching down jacks. I have to say I'm quite impressed and will keep this in my big toolkit when it arrives.
