I had purchased this for my Macbook Air and it does not work at all. I have plugged it into my USB-C port and none of the docking ports are working. Sorely disappointed. it turns out it only support charging phones,

Brilliant entry level laptop hub. Brilliant entry level laptop hub.

This didn't work at all on my Macbook Pro.
I would not recommend this USB Hub.
I was connecting external MIDI devices and it would initially detect the hub and connected devices and then it would disappear after about one second after plugging it in.
I didn't try the HDMI connection on it but I wouldn't have high hopes on that working either.

If you are looking for an alternative (although this comes with ethernet instead of HDMI), I was able to replaced it with this similarly priced one which did work as expected (Thank you PB Tech for making refund/replacement easy);

The pass through charging works but none of the usb ports work with any usb device be it audio interface, keyboard, mouse, midi keyboard….. basically have brought a completely non functional item. Works fine for all I need. I thought the USBC was supposed to output power but it doesn’t. The HDMI out has glitched a couple of times but I can just unplug and plug back in and it works fine.
