Works with my EXOS SAS drives, with a caveat

I initially thought the cable didn't work on my EXOS drives - I have an LSI 2008 controller (Dell RAID controller de-tuned into a SAS controller).

The new 10TB EXOS drives did not even spin up, while my old SATA drives worked fine.

On investigating, I discovered that these EXOS drives (and apparently some newer SATA drives as well) will not work when the orange wire (3.3v) on the SATA power connector is connected. It's related to the PWDIS function of SATA 3.2+ and later, and also apparently affects SAS drives.

SAS FAIL - SATA OK

We had 4x spare 6TB SAS hard-drives and wanted to be used on a desktop computer hardware with SAS LSI-2008 HBA controller but this cable is for SATA only while still presenting the SAS connector - Works in same configuration with SATA hard-drives.

DISAPPOINTING - there are already SAS-8087 to sata cables, this feedback is to avoid others purchasing for same SAS drive connectivity reason.

This is SATA connectivity cable and it works for this feature set only.

From when you place your order, for DHL express delivery in-stock products typically arrive within 2-3 working days for metro areas and 3-5 working days for rural areas. 7 day right of exchange

If you change your mind after making a purchase, or realise you have ordered the incorrect item, you can enjoy the peace of mind that we offer a 7 day exchange policy.

To exchange a product, goods must be sealed / unopened, with packaging in original condition, and accompanied by a valid receipt dated no more than 7 calendar days from when you request an exchange.
