I bought this to fix what I thought was a bandwidth issue causing flickering on my new Ultrawide Gaming Monitor as this cable is VESA certified and the one that came with the monitor is not. It turns out that the flickering was caused by a Microsoft bug in the scale options under Display Settings. In terms of the cable performance, it seems to work just as well as the one that came with the monitor, so I guess there's that. No matter how good you think your cable is, if its not certified there is a good chance it has the 20th pin active which gives a constant power from monitor to GPU which the motherboard can draw off when you reset your Cmos, That can be the cause of why many issues persist on your system. It also this cable gives the HDR ready signal & doesn't suffer from the Extra SDR dimness with HDR turned on other cables can introduce. Spend the money & do it right, buy this cable! It also fits like a glove & has the clips so it wont fall out. I bought this product for the VESA certified cable. It's quite expensive but I wanted the quality assurance. The 3m was also what I wanted for my set up.
