Tried to use as an extension to my Usbc hub and eventually audio along with power just cuts off while playing a game. Tried to isolate the connection without the hub and direct the connection with the hub and audio worked fine. Tried extending the power cable alone to my iPad and wouldn’t charge even if the connections were turned. My plan was to extend the cable of my small laptop dock for Macbook Pro 14 inch so that I could neatly sort out all of the cables and peripherals. However, while this cable did expand the dock out for hard drive peripherals, no matter what I did, the HDMI on the dock would not work. The HDMI on the dock works fine when plugged directly into USC C on the computer - just not when extended using this cable. I wasted my money on buying this item as it did not serve my needs. Had it for a few weeks and it works like it should, delivers enough power for my docking station with 2 monitors. Just be aware that 50cm is not very long - although it's sufficient for my scenario. Worked well for two weeks as an extension to a hub that has a screen, webcam, and microphone connected to it. Used in a conference room setup, so was frequently being plugged into different laptops. Now unreliable, does not allow all peripherals to connect at once. Have had to remove cable back out of the system to get things working. I needed this for my USB C laptop dock as I wanted to store it under my desk to keep it clear.
I'm happy to say this cable works as it should, and delivers 100w of power to my Surface laptop.
I do wish I had bought a longer one as 0.5m is barely enough, and doubt it would be suitable for anyone. I needed this for my USB C laptop dock as I wanted to store it under my desk to keep it clear.
