TP-Link Tapo C520WS 4MP/2K+ Outdoor PT WiFi Camera

I buy stuff from PB quite often and as always I feel as though I got a good product at a really good price. But it's not until something goes wrong that you really appreciate dealing with a reputable vendor. While preparing to install my Camera I realised the item I had purchased (C510) was not the best choice for me. The C520WS has an ethernet connection option which I will use, an extra megapixel rating on the camera and it was on special at nearly the same price. I know that's mostly my bad for not rechecking the website once I'd chosen the style of camera to use (there are several formats), but I felt the sales person should have drawn my attention to the alternative. Sadness ...
I phoned in hope that I might be able to exchange up to the 520. Simon C. was absolutely awesome, listened and sorted it out. True service professionals are few and far between these days and I really appreciate that PB actually demonstrates it values it's customers by instilling a strong service culture and values. bought this camera to try and improve on my experience with my earlier purchased Tapo C320WS V2. Not any better as far as I can tell but yet to instal permanently. Video on both these cameras appears to pulse and zoomed image is almost unusable, as far as clearly recognising a subject or number plate. Noticeable improvement in image quality over the 1080p version. Lots of cool features like pet car and human identification and auto tracking and tracking zones. If you have any sort of connection issues make sure you don't have a vpn on your phone. I do and have to pause the vpn when accessing the tapo app or the video feeds just don't work properly. I have 2 TAPO surveillances cams . One wifi, the 2nd 4G. Both cameras are easy to set up, and have good optics. But their software has a major flaw which does not seem to be solvable. When on "Patrol" they have a minimum "dwell" at each station of 2 minutes for the wifi. And 1 hr for the 4G. This is completely useless for a surveillance camera. 2 minutes let alone an hour is more than enough time for someone to get into mischief. TP-Link claim it is to reserve battery/pan motor life. These issues should be made very clear in advertising, as surely the prime requirement of a panning security camera is to be able to scan the entire pan area...view more I have 2 TAPO surveillances cams . Installed under house soffit covering large rear yard and utilities shed. Easy to hard wire install following paper manual. Gives excellent day time picture/sound with good colour and sound and no electrical interference. Night time picture/sound quite aceptable. I like the person tracking feature which maintains excellent picture/sound when following a target person. I have added this camera to my other TP Link Tapo Cameras around the house as these cameras have been very reliable and excellent quality. This is a verg good product. Very responsive to motion and got a clear quality of the image. I already owned an older model of these cameras and I'm impressed, I ordered these newer ones and they are even better, easy to install and link to my existing account and internet. Thank you. I will definitely be getting more to add to the system. Awesome security camera. I previously bought one of the Tapo cameras for inside my house to keep an eye on my puppy and recently decided we needed some external cameras for the house. This is a great addition being able to see all my cameras with ease. Quality of the video and sound is superb and even at night it’s very clear! Was easy to install on the exteriors of the house and easy to add to my devices in the app. Awesome security camera.
