AMD Ryzen 9 7900 CPU

I definitly went over my budget for this one.

But going from a i7 8700 to this is a definite improvement and while I'm sure there will likely be issues later in down the line I didn't even have to do a fresh OS install, I just booted it and after a couple of minutes it loaded back into W11 just as usual. Mounted on a ASUS STRIX B650E-F M/B with a NZXT 3 fan AIO cooler. Highest temp is 65 degree working in gaming at 144fps, so no issues here. Worth the money compared to top end CPUs currently. I got the ryzen 9 7900 for a new workstation build during the boxing day sales, it also came with the Avatar game redemption from AMD as a promotion and I received my game voucher code the day I applied for it. I choose this cpu as an upgrade from and 12700k from Intel which ran really hot all the time. The 7900 sits around 35 degrees during normal office tasks and running 2 screens, normally 20ish browser tabs, emails, SharePoint, onedrive a few spreadsheets and Esri Arcgis Pro GIS software. My cooling fans are mostly idle and are always on silent mode. Better than my previous Intel 12th, 13th and 14th gen i7 cpu as it has 12 main cores instead of the 8 primary cores from intel, I don't count their e cores which don't scale well for my workflow or power consumption and thermals. In the photo this workstation has been working hard all day so you should expect thermals like this and the corresponding low electricity usage.
