I've had this installed for 2 weeks and set up a Samsung 970Evo M.2 NVMe drive in it to use as a boot disc, mounted on a 16x PCIe 3 slot.
Took a wee while to get the BIOS set up to recognise it (it's an older board with a Xeon processor), but that's probably more because I"m a rank amateur and it's the first time I've tried it than any particular difficulty.
Speeds are fantastic - approx. 7x faster RW than a Samsung 850 Evo I put in on SATA3 a year or so back. Does what it says.

Works as intended, just plug and play.
Using a Corsair MP400 8TB, windows detected straight away.
No chipset issues like others where they are limited to 2TB drives.

This is fantastic, I get 3200Mb/s with a transcend Nvme M key ssd. You can only boot from this device if your mobo supports nvme. Highly recommended even if you don't use it for boot device. Took a chance, sure enough it works on the old Apple Mac Pro's 2010-12 using the PCIE express port. I used in conjunction with a Samsung 980 M2 .

Just used terminal to live clone my current drive. (On Catalina) Instant success!
sudo asr restore --source /dev/disknamesourceboothdrives1 --target /dev/disknamedestinationhere0s3 --erase
(make sure your destination drive is empty and ok to erase as the --erase command is needed for it to work)

Had a drive fail and needed another m.2 slot urgently. This was an extremely easy solution, just had to mount the drive and drop it in a free slot. Just make sure you check your motherboard manual and ensure the lower PCIe slots aren't sharing lanes with other features. That was the only issue I ran into and it was an easy fix in my case. Needed a 2nd SSD NVME but my MB only has the one NVME slot.
Tried a USB NVME adapter but Samsung Magician wouldn't recognize the SSD as it was on the USB Bus..
Tried this expansion card option....works perfectly.

This does the trick. Got full speed out of the 970 Evo SSD I put in it. No difficulty in setting it as a boot drive and temps on the SSD have been good. If you need pcie to m.2 this card works great! Want m.2 speeds but mother boards isn't compatible?
