Mainstream PCIe Gen4 Performance
While enthusiast drives push the upper limits of the NVMe 1.4 standard, the SPATIUM M452 focuses on accessible, consistent performance for everyday workloads. The PHISON E19T controller manages the 3D NAND flash to achieve up to 3,500 MB/s sequential reads and 2,600 MB/s sequential writes. For random workloads, it handles up to 220,000 IOPS read and 500,000 IOPS write, ensuring snappy file transfers and quick operating system navigation. It is fully backwards compatible with PCIe Gen3, Gen2, and Gen1 slots, allowing it to function as a drop-in upgrade for older systems.
Optimised for Low Power Consumption
Power efficiency is a major strength of the M452, making it particularly well-suited for mobile devices where battery life is critical. The drive draws a maximum of just 3.7 W under heavy operating loads. When idle, it drops into a PS3 power state consuming only 40 mW, and supports an ultra-low L1.2 power state of just 5 mW. This minimal power draw directly translates to lower thermal output, allowing the drive to operate comfortably between 0°C and 70°C without requiring a bulky aftermarket heatsink.
Built-in Data Protection
MSI integrates a comprehensive suite of advanced features to maintain data integrity over the life of the drive. Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) Error Correction Code (ECC) identifies and fixes data errors on the fly, while End-to-End Data Path Protection ensures information remains secure as it travels between the host system and the NAND flash. The drive also supports Pyrite Encryption for enhanced data security, alongside standard TRIM and SMART technologies to monitor drive health and optimise performance.
