This is the second electric lighter I've bought here. The first was excellent and lasted for years. This one is a distinct disimprovement. Firstly, the separate on-off switch is annoying, It's far too easy to forget to turn it off after use, and because there's an unnecessary light the battery runs down in no time. Secondly, it's just too unreliable. For some reason the push button is very temperamental and fails to work at random intervals. We use this to light candles and light our gas burner. No need to use matches!! It's worth the buy and it charges via USB cable easily. We have now replaced our matches with this. I had great hopes for this device, since my cooktop has no automatic ignition and my previous lighter was temperamental. This one worked great to start with, but has since (within a few weeks) become temperamental, too. Not sure what the issue is, but it will occasionally just refuse to spark, even with a fresh charge. I brought this to prevent me burning my fingers when lighting candles.
