TESA WS2980C Pro Weather Station

Seems to work ok but if light readings are important to you then this one has problems, it is physically set up for northern hemisphere, in the Southern at mid day the rain catchers shades the light sensor. I bought this at the beginning of Feb 2023. It was easy to setup although the connection to Ecowitt weather,Weather underground and Weathercloud was slightly more difficult.
I have another brand of weather station and on the Tesa rain readings etc are marginally different. When compared to other stations in the area it seems very accurate.
The screen has a battery backup but needs to be plugged in preferrably. The weather sensors has batteries too but is mainly powered by a solar panel (during sunlight hours). The panel can not charge the batteries as alkalines fitted anyways.

I had a much more expensive weather station which developed a problem. This complete weather station was less than half the cost of repairing my old one. I'd definitely buy one again, both for the features and the price.

really good weather station, easy to install and set up with great weather readings. My only gripe is that the instructions for the wifi set up (and therefore connection to online weather sites) are terrible with troubleshooting for this also a nightmare to navigate. great purchase regardless however for the on screen data provided to unit in house really good weather station, easy to install and set up with great weather readings. Easy to set up. Was confused initially as it connected to my neighbours one 3 houses away. Couldn't figure why my sensor was reading cold. While it was sitting on the table next to me before I mounted it up outside.
Neighbours one looks identical. Simple re pair process and done! Works in the app and uploads to Ecowitt and Wunderground no problems at all. Easy to set up. Really pleased with the weather station. Awesome display & features. Really like the mobile app which gives you all the info displayed on the base unit plus more.

My wife bought this for me as a birthday present, and it's been an absolute blast for a science nerd like myself.
Set up and installation was super easy with just a small screwdriver and the supplied spanner to assemble the weather station, and decently clear instructions on configuring the console.
For mounting, I just bought a 2 meter galvanised steel pipe and some saddle clamps from Bunnings, attached that to the side of a convenient wooden fence pole in the back garden, and popped the station on to that, aligning it to true north and using the built in spirit level.

Then I downloaded the app and connected the console to my WiFi and ecowitt.net.
Whole thing was done in under an hour including the trip to Bunnings!
It seems to be quite accurate, at least as far as I can tell from comparing with other stations

Easy to setup and no problems with WiFi connection. I am suspicious of the light sensor as sitting here watching it the reading goes from 1043 to 240 in seconds with no obvious change in the light outside and doesn't corelate with my solar output. setup is fairly easy.
you need the base station to be constantly powered to have the station "online"
