Shark Navigator ZU62 Pet Vacuum Cleaner with Self-Cleaning Corded Powerful Brushroll

My Dyson had been dying for months - my new Shark arrived this morning, and since I base purchases on what other customers say, here are my thoughts.
Pros: Was easy to assemble, goes well- while people compare these Sharks to the Dysons they are not in the same league, but the Shark does go well; I needed something that extended quite high and it does that; I like the way you have 3 choices for the wand use- straight off the tube, attached to the wand and a tool can go on the end of the extended wand; changing from carpet to hard floor is easy - set both buttons (see below)

Cons: The power cord is a nuisance, it's easier to hold it rather than put it in the place designed for it - otherwise it gets caught when you take the machine from reclining to upright; it does not collect right up to the edge of anything; does not go under much
It seems a reasonably well thought out design but I'd really like (say) a foot to attach that would go under the bed, china cabinet etc, it has enough reach so this seems an oversight to me.
When I first plugged the machine in and turned it on, it kept giving me a red light - make sure you set the suction on the handle as well as the red button on the body of the machine, as in, if you start it on carpet, put the red button to carpet and change the one on the wand to minimum (for carpets).
There are 2 tools in the booklet that are not included in this package - if you need the pet brush it is not in this version.
All in all, pretty good and I am very happy not having to live with my spider collection in the living areas anymore!

Bought this because of stubborn pet dog hair that sticks on the carpet. Works wonderfully, the amount of dust and hair it sucks out whenever I vacuum is quite a lot. Would recommend this vacuum. We are people who clean/vacuum regularly so when we used the Shark Navigator for the 1st time, we were horrified to see how much came out of our carpet.
I would definitely recommend this vacuum cleaner. It’s better than any other we’ve used before. And pet hair doesn’t stand a chance. Best of all, pet hair doesn’t get tangled around the roller. We have 2 dogs, 2 cats (and a messy husband).

My trusty old 500v shark navigator died on me unexpectedly, well it just needs a small hose replacement on head, best way was to purchase a new head on vaccum, but thought with how long ive had it for it was due for an upgrade. Im pretty sure its at least 8years old.

I purchased this new shark vaccum, and although I miss my old one this vaccum seems to impress me more and more each time I use it. Has excellent power and is well made and I believe this one will also last a long long time.

Very pleased with this purchase and so impressed with the vacuum. It has excellent suction and has made a huge difference to the appearance and cleanliness of my floors. I’ve used the product for approximately a month now and continue to be impressed. I had vacuumed daily prior to this and the result just wasn’t comparable. Good price, too. Only con would be the cord and how it can get in the way while vacuuming but I consider this minor. Very pleased with this purchase and so impressed with the vacuum. Incredible product quality for the price. I've only used it a few times so I can't speak for it's durability but so far I am impressed with the power, the ease of use, clear instruction, sturdy quality, intelligent design and great price. Having owned an original shark vacuum for a number of years, this was a great upgrade.
It's lighter than the old one, but has same dustbin capacity and easy manoeuvring.
